We used a food tray from our school lunch to make a Junior Solar Sprint Car. Step one, find the center of the tray
Step two: measure and cut . Be careful with superglue, it will melt the Styrofoam.
Measure and cut the axles
Set the wheels and axles on wood chassis.
Tray was build upside down for better air flow.
Mount the motor. Had to lift the back so the gears would fit better.
LEGGO parts work great for the solar panel. We also had to cut out the body front and back for the guide line.
We used hot glue for the motor. Be careful with this stuff.
The LEGO mount will allow us to position the panel at different angles. Next step will be the power run.

Test date 4/22/21 (Blue car)

    Really fast run…and straight! Great job. Taking the time to measure and get everything lined up paid off. The Lego pieces for the panel adjustment were a great idea. Good job adding stability to the tray with the balsa beams. I bet this car is really lightweight!

    Great design. I really like how you used a minimal amount of wood (less weight) to add rigidity. That was a fast run you had, nice work!
